You can make backup to local storage or the Cloud. In 2016, your access to create backups with a cloud subscription is only good for the duration of an active subscription. If getting a perpetual (stand-a-lone license) though, I'd hold off a couple more weeks until a release date is announced to make sure you get 2017 an don't get stuck with 2016 since 2017 is just around the corner.įor the Cloud subscription, the only thing that might be worth waiting for is to see what the support model will be in 2017 as you'd probably be locked into the 2016 support model of it does change. On 1 brand new laptop tried Acronis 2021 to do a full backup. made sure backup directory on NAS had full control for all. I've tried all of their knowledge base suggestions and had done everything their support suggested before opening the case. Same exact error on a second machine as I purchased 3 machine license. Also it leaves multiple resource intensive processes running that can't be shutdown easily all the time. I have a case open with their support right now. Local account on NAS with full access, Full access for ALL users, separate shared SMB volume, no dice. It will not succeed and fails no matter how I configure it. Support has gone silent after requesting info.Ĭons: I have a brand new machine and wanted to use Acronis to do an initial full system backup to my NAS.
